    Default Short Stirling squadron

Is there a Short Stirling expert out there who can identify the squadron who had a Bulldog mascot circa 1942 ?

The dog was known as P/O William Prune or Bill for short.

    TIA

    Hello,
I believe it was 15 Squadron, my friend Brian Harris Navigator, took some photograh of this "airman", if I remember well, the dog did some ops and had even a flying logbook ...!

There was a report on him in a newspaper in 1942 ...the magazine was: "Illustrated", the dog and its C.O were the first cover of the magazine! He was named P/O Prune or Bill.

Bill died in May 1944 and had its grave standing in front of number one hangar of the base.
Apparently the dog did some ops over germany too !! Must have had a special flying suit ???

    Hope that help !
