Default GC Richard "Batchy" Atcherley shoot-down March 1942

Group Captain Richard "Batchy" Atcherley (who flew in the Schnieder cup race) was, while commanding officer at RAF Kenley, shot down in March 1942 by Fw 190s. He was rescued from the Channel by the Royal Navy.

Aside from the description in A PRIDE OF UNICORNS, does anyone know any sources for the incident, or the possible German pilots involved?

    Thanks,
    David Isby
