    Default Unaccounted airmen 11-6-1940

What caused the death of following airmen:

LAC Ronald W. HALLAM - 621765, killed on active service (Flight Global), buried Killead (St.Catherine) Church of Ireland Churchyard, Co. Antrim (UK7256).

Sgt (Pilot) Norman L. PAGE - 740200, died of wounds or injuries received on active service (Flight Global), buried same churchyard as LAC HALLAM.

Both may have been casualties on Henley L3308 of 3 BGS, crashed on approach Eglinton.

AC1 Roy WYCHERLEY - 959146, whose name I can't find in The Times and Flight Global archives, buried Broughton (St.Paul) Churchyard, Denbighshire (UK8505).

Regards and thanks for your help.

Hello Henk and a Merry Christmas,
There is no entry in the England & Wales Deat index for Hallam or Page so Eglington is a possible.
Roy Wycherley's death was registered at Buckrose District, North Yorkshire.(This area covered Scarborough and Bridlington) He was aged 22.
Hope this is of some help.
    Regards
    Andy

More likely associated with Aldergrove (Belfast International Airport) as Killead churchyard is just down the road from there, whereas Eglinton is near Londonderry.
No trace either in the Irish deaths for 1940.

    Hello

The Grave Registration Report which includes both Hallam and Page confirms them as being with 3 B. & G. S.

    Regards

    Simon
