Default Sgt Ronald Lewis York VR758009

    Hello,
Sgt Ronald Lewis York joined 610 sqn at Acklington on 23-9-40, which was operating Spitfire I.
Could anyone please tell me on what date did he leave the squadron for 74 sqn. Also does anyone know which OTU he trained on.
    Thank you,
    Roy

    Hi Roy,

    Sergeant Ron York
Ron York hailed from Weston Favell. During September 1940 he was serving with 610 squadron, then toward the end of the year, moved to 74 at Biggin Hill.
Sorry nothing more concrete, hopefully someone out there will have more.

    Regards,

    Ian

    Default Sgt RL York.

    Hi Cobber,
Yes as 74 sqn did not move to Biggin Hill until 15-10-40 he must have been there after this date.
It would be good to learn when he arrived at 57 OTU, presumably being tour expired from 74 sqn.
    Regards and thanks,
    Roy
