    No.404 Sqn RCAF

Keefe, after shooting down two Bv138s on his first operational trip, had his port engine knocked out and was forced to crash land at his home base. Fortunately, with no injuries.

    * Keefe (DFC) and Steed, were killed in a crash SW of Launceston, Cornwall, in Beaufighter LZ176, on 28-6-1944.

    Henk,

    Apologies.

I had STEED's correct name, just typed it wrong! (have amended). Steed was an NCO on 28-7-1943 (don't have his number).

The Canadian War Museum newspapers collection quotes the Globe & Mail 7 Aug 1943, "Anken, Charles Percy, LAC, died of natural causes in Canada"
