    Hello,

    Could someone with A-B's HA100 to HZ999 Volume, please provide me with a service history/fate of Wellington VIII HX388? I have some facts, but need to confirm certain details.

    3 OTU engine cut; ditched on navex, 50.57N/68.05W, 29th July 1943

    Aircraft ditched on Navex, after engine failure. Crew survived 20 hours in their dinghy and were later picked up by a fishing boat and landed at Swansea.

    Lat. incorrect ? Newfoundland?? I can confirm that is the information listed in RAF Serials HA100-HZ999

    Thanks for the additional detail on HX388. Have no other information on HX388, but here is a bit more information on Knott, Downes RAAF and Moon:

    Attacked and damaged U-421 off Portuguese coast. Starboard engine was hit by return fire from boat forcing pilot to make three-hour return journey to base in badly damaged aircraft on single engine.
