Default RAF colours for MTO in 1944?

    Hi all

I am wondering what colours were used on RAF and SAAF Liberator B-24 bombers in 1944. Seems like upper surfaces are brown, no scheme, and lower are grey? But which one of the RAF colours were those?
    Thanks for answers

Not much help but I have a book "Aircraft of World War 11" by Chris Chant pp89-92 which show --
Consolidated Lib B.Mk V1with brown on top & grey below used by RAF & Commonwealth sqdns .
The others are USAAF except for a Mk11 in silver LB-30 used by the British as unarmed transport .
All of the Liberator photos in my Liberator & SAAF related books are in black & white .

    Thanks Anne.

I knew the brown and grey colours, but needed the exact designation. However on other forum they replied that those were US colors, OD and neutray Grey...
I am working on a profile of SAAF Liberator, so need it for this purpose :)
    thanks and regards

    Hello,

I'd imagine the answer might lie in this volume :
    http://www.tahs.com/books/AB%20liberator%20RAF.htm

I don't have a copy myelf, but I'm sure other forumites have it on their shelves.

If you really want to develop your knowledge on the R.A.F. Liberator, it might be worth acquiring a copy.
