W/O. E. WRIGHT, R.A.F.V.R.óW/O. Wright has participated in attacks on the enemy naval base at Trondheim, and on an aircraft factory at Wamemunde, where he achieved excellent results. Recently he has obtained some splendid
    photographs.

    A bit more detail:

Born 1914 in Salford, Lancashire; home at Whissendine, Rutland; telephone engineer; enlisted 1938 and trained as a pilot. Air Ministry Bulletin 8793 has the following citation.

    Amrit/Hugh,

    Thanks for your help.

I have the following on Wright:

    20-5-1942
    No.44 Sqn.
    Lancaster I L7581 KM-R
    Air Test

Took off 1555 Waddington but before attaining flying speed the leading edge of the port wing failed and the Lancaster veered from the runway, colliding with two Hampdens belonging to 420 Squadron.

741473 W/O (Pilot) Eric WRIGHT RAFVR
    AUS400519 Sgt ( - ? - ) Harland Leo HOGAN* RAAF - Injured
NZ404097 Sgt (W.Op./Air Gnr.) Arthur Raymond ROWSELL** RNZAF - Later DFM - Flew six ops with 44 Sqn.
    530493 Sgt ( - ? - ) W L BICKLEY
    56206 Sgt ( - ? - ) B A GILL
    93373 Cpl ( - ? - ) R ANDERSON

See: BCL3/97 (Chorley mentions only Wright, albeit as ' W/O E W Wright').
    * Have what details available on Hogan from NAA.
** Have full details of Rowsell's award per: By Such Deeds/Hanson p.421.

Details of Wright's earlier career would be of interest, and further information on the above incident would be welcome.
