I cannot help with any of the crew names but the Stilring File by Bryce Gomersall records EJ115 as starting its operational life with 199 Squadron as EX-H and EX-C and had 11 sorties to its credit. It was transferred to 90 Squadron, re-coded WP-K with another 15 sorties to its credit and finally transferred to 1653CU where another 26 sorties are recorded. It was SOC on 12 July 1945.

Yes, I do have a comprehensive lif ehistory of this aircrasft, just trying to find out more about the crash landing at Newmarket. K seems to have been on a special op, bounced by a fighter and hit by flak. Newmarket having a very long, albeit grass, runway was obviously deemed a better bet than trying a landing at Tuddenham, only a few miles away. That, apart from two of the crew, is as far as I go at present.

No problem, Newmarket. Your initial post was not clear as to whether you were looking for information re the crash landing, crew or aircraft.

Just trying to help a grandson of one of the crew. As there were seemingly no fatalities, that closes many doors
