Default Arcraft crash at Thruxton or Andover on 17/2/43 involving someone called John

This a very long shot I know but does any know if there was an aircraft crash at Thruxton or Andover on the 17th Feb 1943 involving someone called John!!

In my father’s log book there is a note…Spitfire 9208…Thruxton to Andover after John’s crash. …..10 min flight.

There were several Johns who he knew in 16 and 170 Squadron
    W/C John Roderick Davenport
    F/L Edwin John Packwood
    John Sowerbutts
    John Valentine Stuart-Duncan
    John Charles Tattersall
    John Charles Sheldon Turner
    W. John Wendelken

There is also a John Peter Hutton who ferried aircraft to the Middle East.
Although several had crashes at various times there is no mention of anything in the 16 Squadron ORB for this date.

    Cheers Motherbird

Ohhh! Just thinking about it I guess it could have been a car crash, and then David ferried the Spitfire back to Andover.
