His death is registed in Totnes.
Failing any other info from the forum I would apply for a copy of his death certificate from the GRO.
Cause of death will be listed and possibly unit.

I answered your thread yesterday 20th June on the other forum (TOCH). Advise: Always come up with the CWGC info. Just could find a Frederick John COOKE - 168830, buried Bexley Heath Cem., but happy his name was not JOHNSON or SMITH !!
I've him as the pilot on Wellington X serial LN775 of 3 OADU crashed at South Brent, Devon.
