    Default USAAF Disarmament Command

Not strictly RAF, but just who were the USAAF Disarmament Command inhabiting (according to Willis & Holliss) RAF Boreham and RAF Chipping Ongar on 1 Dec 1944.
Anybody know what they were up to? Googling seems to indicate they were a slightly piratical mob bent on nicking the Luftwaffe's (in Europe) bits of kit and ideas and shovelling them off to the States PDQ without letting the Brits see. Or am I being a bit hard? I doubt it!!!!

    Amrit,
Mni tks for that link. A fascinating document. Just what I was looking for. It even charts the back-biting and organisational shambles that occurred!! Very realistic!!
