Default F/O Cyril Branston Cohen RCAF

    Hello,

F/O Cyril B. Cohen was shot down on June 3, 1944.

His service number as an officer was J/17629.

My question is: where can I find his service number prior to commission?

    Thanks,

    Fox.

    Hi Fox,

I would suggest to ask for the brief extract from his service record copy in National Archives of Canada - no problem obtaining records for deceased airmen in the WWII free of charge as far as I know - my last experience few years ago.

From The Canadian Gazette Volume 77, Number 37, 11 September 1943, page 54 it shows his non-commissioned service number as R/107576.

Thank you very much for your help.

Christian, does your source provide the same information for the following pilot?

    P/O Robert Dunham Reesor (J/16023) -- KIA October 2, 1942.

    Regards,

    Fox.
