Hi Malcolm
He was with 21 OTU and was lost in Wellington X, LN878 which was lost on a navigation exercise over the North Sea (Chorley BCL 7)
Malcolm
From Elizabeth Bay, New South Wales, this 27 year old was reportedly killed over the North Sea serving as a Navigator on Wellingtons on 24 April 1944 aged 27. Numbered 432219, his name is among those listed on the Runnymede Memorial.
I cannot find his unit under the CWGC website or in the Bomber Command losses book for 1944. Can anyone shine a light on whether he was Coastal Command, Squadron number, the aircraft number, names of the crew members and what actually happened to the aircraft?
The information will be much appreciated.
