    Default Losses 1941

    Can any one provide the details on how the following were lost

    1052154 Sgt HH Taylor W/Op 25 Oct 1941
    548102 F/Sgt GE Appleton DFM W/Op 27 July 1941

    Hi Chris

    Taylor - He was killed whilst flying in Wellington IC, X9989 of the OADU, which crashed shortly after taking off from Harwell on a delivery flight to Gibraltar.
    Appleton - He was killed whilst flying in Hampden, P1162 of the CGS, which stalled and crashed on take off from Castle Kennedy.

    P1162 1CGS 27/4/41 Stalled in turn at 10.32hrs after taking off from Castle Kennedy for camera gun trials, killing 5, Cat W (Destroyed - Write off)

    "Hampden File" by Harry Moyle:
    P1162 CGS 27/4/41 Stalled after take-off, Castle Kennedy Sgt HG Turner, Sgt GE Appleton and three other crew members all killed. Training
