    Default W.U.E.S (Little Rissington)

    Hi,

    I found in a record of service of a French pilot a stage at the W.U.E.S (Little Rissington) in january 1951. what is this course ? Is there a relation between WUES and RAF Examing squadron (1951) ?

    It stands for the Western Union Examining Squadron.

    It was formed on 1 June 1950 at Little Rissington to examine instructors from of allied air forces, mainly French, Belgian and Dutch. A variety of aircraft were used, including Stampe SV4, Siebel204 and Morane 230.

    It was disbanded after 18 months and reformed at Villacoublay.

    I could find no information about this unit in the Little Rissington CFS account the information is taken from RAF Flying Trg & Support Units by Sturtivant, Hamlin and Halley
