Default Possible air crash 23 Jan 1944 Newtown District, Montgomeryshire, Wales?

I'm researching Sergeant (W.Op./Air Gnr.) 1319125 William Henry WAREHAM who died on 23 Jan 1944 in Newtown District, Montgomeryshire. Wales. I suspect he may have died in an air crash. Does anyone have any further info that could help resolve this query? Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi

He was in Halifax V, DG258 'J' of No 1667 HCU which broke up in a dive after control was lost in cloud following an engine failure on a high level cross-country exercise.

Many thanks all for your valuable assistance. It's time for me to get the Chorley's out from the library methinks.
