Default Wellington LA 2865, CGS, RAF Sutton Bridge 10 April 1943

Can someone give me the details that led to the crash of a Central Gunnery School, Sutton Bridge, Wellington on 10 April 1943?

    Aircraft: Wellington LA 2865
    Date: 10 April 1943
    Place: Near Wyton, Huntingdonshire, England

Pilot: 403811 Flying Officer Reginald Ross HELY (RAAF)
Pilot: 42271 Flight Lieutenant Thomas Cathcart STANBURY
Air Gunner 742967 Flight Sergeant Eric COOK
Air Gunner J16172 Pilot Officer John Alfred TOWN (RCAF)
Air Gunner 1000251 Sergeant Clifford HARRISON (RAAF)

In the CWGC database, all the crew are listed as killed and Harrisons unit is given as 255 (RAAF) Sqn but I believe the aircraft came from the CGS at RAF Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire

    Thank you
    Norman

Many thanks Dave. I certainly missed that post
and thank you Col for exactly what I sought
and thank you Henk for causing this information to come from down under

I mistakenly read (Mk) 1A as LA hence my incorrect serial
