Default W/C Roy Elliott logbook 627 Squadron and 3 PRU

    Hello !

I got some copies of the page of the logbook of W/C Roy Elliott , concerning 627 Squadron.
He wrote something for his operations that I never saw before:
    EX:
    pilot passenger
    "30 March 1944 Mosquito IV 547 E Self S/L De Boos Ops Nuremberg. OK. 75. "
    4x500 MC 2.61 AMPG

What does mean 2.61 AMPG ???

Nuremberg was his 75 Ops, he will end his third tour and last with 81 operations, the last being Nantes on 27 may 1944.

When at 3 PRU on Wellington he survived with all the crew to a ditching on 16 April 1941 coming back from Bremen on Wellington 2756 , he wrote:

    War Ops Bremen OK
On return starboard eng failed, landed on fire in North Sea, picked up by HMT River Spey.
    Thank ....(cannot read) We've got a Navy !!!! M.

    the crew was:
Pilot himself, second pilot P/O Jackson, W/C Bennett, Sgt Beecroft, Sgt Amot, Sgt Chandler, Sgt Evans.

I believe the 2.61 has to do with fuel consumption. "Air Miles Per Gallon" is what I have in the back of my head... not an expert though. The number is about right for a Mossie, to judge by some of the pilot's notes floating about.
