Rauceby Hospital came under Cranwell. It was (amongst other things) a Burns Unit (McIndoe and the Guinea Pig Club, etc). So it seems probable that your man was burned. Now whether this was the result of an air accident or a ground accident only the Death Cert will tell. Bear in mind that there was, at the same time, a civilian Mental Hospital on the same site. Could be tricky?!!

    Thanks friends for additional info.
    Al & Peter:
GOLASZEWSKI not mentioned in KU CZCI (Polish book on PAF aircraft losses). Perhaps Franek or Voytech may have an answer on what happened to this airman.
    Douglas:
Informed CWGC on possible incorrect age of MacMURRAY.
    Regards,
    Henk.
