Default Searching for 87 SQN Hurricane LK - ? Crashsite - NW of Arras 20 May 1940

Folks, Looking for advice please on how to find details of the crash (and site) of my Uncle - PLTOFF Richard Sanders RAF - while flying a Mk1 Hurricane with 87 SQN at 1000 on 20 May 1940, somewhere northwest of Arras in northern France (these details from Peter Cornwall's book). I know that my Uncle survived the crash but died a day or so later and is buried at Shorncliffe. He had ferried a 145 SQN aircraft to Lille-Marcq and was told to join 87 SQN. He crashed following an encounter with Bf110s. He is mentioned in WDCDR Gleed's book 'Rise to Conquer' as "PLTOFF Bates". Thanks in advance.

    Hi Bill,

In a few weeks I am going to Arras for some research, field and desk. If anything comes up I'll inform you.
