    Default 50 Sqn crew

A report after release from internment in Portugal has me puzzled. A four man crew from 50 Sqn - F/Sgt Macgregor, Sgt Adams, Sgt Boreham and Sgt Seth - ditched just offshore from Caparica in Portugal on 23 June 42 after running out of fuel. No mention of the type of aircraft. 50 Sqn was by this time operating Lancasters, but a four man crew would not be sufficient. Can someone with access to the 50 Sqn ORB, or the Portreath Station ORB, give me any information about the type of aircraft flown, and perhaps the serial?

    Thanks,

    David

    David,

    Beaufort I L9826/OADU.

    See: http://www.landinportugal.org/air_pages/a01_copy(97).htm

    Scroll down to 3309 754 (-) F/Sgt. D.R.MacGregor.

    The above information needs verification.

    Others will possibly add more.
