Default Sgt. E.A. Bolster, RAFVR 1090706

    Hi Folks

Can anyone help with the Christian names for the following Sgt. pilot from 137 Squadron.

    Sgt. E.A. Bolster, RAFVR 1090706

I think I have the correct service number but I've had no luck tracing him in the LG.

Any help, including sources and where he went after 137 Sqdn. would be much appreciated.

    Paul,

Bolster is an unusual surname so there are just 230 people who's death was recorded in England/Wales between 1916 and 2005. Of these there is only 1 with names that match with E A Bolster. Ernest Alfred Bolster born 16 Dec 1915 and death regd in Slough, Berkshire in 1999. He would have been the right age to have served in WWII.

His birth was regd in Pancras, Greater London in Q1 1916.

    Hi Paul,
E.A. Bolster is mentioned in the book Rise from the East: The story of No.247 (China-British) Squadron.
There isnīt the exact date of his arrival or departure. But there are several photos with him. The first one is from New Romney – 247 Sqn came there 10 July 1943 - and it is really summer one. The last photo with him was taken at B.6 (Coulombs) in August 1944. The 247īs ORB would be better.
