Default ORB for 83 squadron 11/44 to 4/45

    Good evening

I am reseaching an airman who served with 83 squadron from November 1944 through to the end of hostilities in Europe. Does any forumite have the ORB for this period who would be able to look his Ops up for me?

If an aircrewman was transferred to 83 squadron, would he automatically qualify for a Pathfinders badge if he flew on Ops with them? Do many images of 83s Lancasters from this era survive?

    Thank you for your assistance.

There are several members here, including myself that have the ORB in question. Could you let us have the airmans name.

    TEC,
First of all, did you know that WO C. Farrow was posted to 83sqdn, from 50sqdn, which means he would have already been involved on Pathfinder ops before arriving at 83. I've got him as being posted in with effect from 02/11/44. I also have the 50sqdn ORB, so shall be looking through that as well. Will be in touch ........
    Alan.

    Hello Alan

Wow that is phenominal! So now I have even more to go on and far more chance of finding a photo of an aircraft he flew!!

I have one more cheeky (and large) favour to ask - will send you another message.

    Thank you Alan,

    TEC
