    THOMPSON Joseph Beckett Sergeant (Pilot) 566058, 25 Squadron, Royal Air Force. Died 31st July 1940. Aged 24. Son of Thomas and Sarah Thompson, of Magheragall. Buried in MAGHERAGALL CHURCH OF IRELAND CHURCHYARD, Magheragall. Grave 194

    I understand the above died in a mid air collison

    researching this man and would be interested to find out details of the incident

    Hi

    From Warner's Blenheim

    L1408 of 25 Squadron FTR from trials of AI equipment over Bristol Channel, collided with L6722 (29S) Sgt J Thompson, AC2 E Toy and Mr D Gordon killed. Gordon was a radar engineer from Martlesham Heath where L1408 was based.

    Does anyone know how you can find out more about this incident, I have an interest because he is on our local church war memorial and is one of those who died during Battle of Britain.
