    Hoping some one can tell me the full name of this former 156 Sqdn C/O and his career after posting from 156 Squadron.

    Wing Commander R. N. Cook; born Invercargill, 30 Jul 1912;
    joined RAF 1934;
    flying instructor, No. 15 OTU, 1939–41;
    commanded No. 156 Sqdn, 1942;
    deputy commander RAF Station, Hemswell, 1942–43, and RAF Station, Faldingworth, 1944;
    Air Staff, Operations, No. 33 Base, No. 3 Bomber Group, 1945.

    Yes, the Red boyo's of Wales, great game and the boys were the best by a country mile over a bad bunch during this 6 Nations. Well done Wales, bring on the South Africans. !

    Hi Errol,

    Thank you for your "Scrappy" notes of Cook, they just managed to fill in a few missing gaps.!!

    I checked G/Capt Hansons 'By Such Deeds' and found no mention of any awards is that right. ?

    To add to your notes, via the No.33 Base Records Book...

    W/Cdr Cook Reported to No.33 Base 23.02.1945 as Wing Commander Op's planning.
    W/Cdr Cook Op's Planning posted to R.A.F Kenley 15.03.1945.

    No further mention found.
