Default No.150 Squadron Battle pilot, F/O D Devoto.

    Gents,

Trying to establish if this officer was formally with No.218 Squadron.

Looking for any details on the posting of F/O David Devoto 39228 to No.150 Squadron early 1940. Son of Albert David and Hilda Beatrice Devoto, of Dublin, Irish Republic

Killed in action, March 31st 1940 with the No.150 squadron.

    TIA

    Regards

Like I suggested a few weeks back, try searching in FLight archives, here you find a posting for D Devoto to 218 Sqn in 1937:

    http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1937/1937%20-%201988.html?search=devoto

    T. C. Brock, D. Devoto and J. E. Mahony, to No. 218 (Bomber) Squadron, Upper Heyford, 30.6.37

YOu need to comb through all those Service aviation pages for the period and see what names go to 218 Sqdn.

    Dennis,

I did that. Just want confirmation this is the same man, with no service number in the 218 squadron ORB I want to make sure. !!! . WAS hoping someone with the No.150 ORB could confirm posting details.

I am sure that there was not that many D Devoto's in the RAF at the time, but stranger things have happened.

    Malcolm,

Thanks for the post, reading it again I can see the confusion. I am aware that a D Devoto was with 218 Squadron, just want to confim that the 218 Devoto is the same D Devoto killed with No.150.

I realise there is not that many D Devoto's in the RAF at the time, but without a service number, just want to be 100 sure.

    Thanks for your post.
