Default Pilot & Soldier deaths 30.8.1941 at Consett Co.Durham

Hi-Can anyone help to provide a list of the deaths registered for the 30.8.1941 that occurred at Consett,County Durham .It is related to the Hurricane Z7062 crash at Parliament Street,Consett on this date which killed the pilot John Heron Wire of No.232 Squadron. This Hurricane was making a dive/low level mock attack on a machine gun position at the end of Parliament Street,Consett when it struck a soldier which was fatal.I am seeking the name of this soldier as I have no name and therefore I am not able to request the death certificate as they are indexed by surname.I have the exact date which is above but I do not have his name. Most likely from local eyewitnesses he was in the South Wales
    Borderers.

The name you are looking for is Gunner Harry Seekins,
    http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=2407753

I used FreeBMD to look up Wire's entry on the index and clicked on the page number (10b 545), there are 4 more names on that page of the register and one of them was of fighting age, he is on the CWGC with death recorded as 30-08-1941.

These are just the names of individuals who died on or around that date and happen to be on the same page of the register. If they were killed by the aircraft, I think their names would be on CWGC database. Their dates of death might not even be the same as the crash date and they may have been from a completely different village.

The freebmd.org.uk website contains transcriptions of the death register INDEX only, not the death certificates, check out the website and get an idea of what is presented, its the easiest way to understand.
