Both were aboard Wirraway A20-49, spun into Lake Corangamite near Foxhow at 0855 hrs. May was pilot in charge.

    Thanks, Ken and Dennis,

A Google search on 'Wirraway A20-49' brought me to this page: <a href='http://www.adf-serials.com/2a20-1.shtml'>ADF Serials, RAAF A20 CAC Wirraway, A20-1 to 100</a>.

The deaths are connected indeed; both airmen were on the same plane.

    Regards,

    Bart

    Bart,

Digitised Wirraway accident files can be found on the Australian Archives site at
    http://naa12.naa.gov.au/scripts/Items_listing.asp?S=10&F=1&O=0&T=I&C=28

They can also be found by searching for
    Wirraway accidents
(or similar entries for other RAAF aircraft types)
