Default 45 Group Fox Moth in Newfoundland

Fox Moth VO-ADE, c/n 4094, ex RCAF A 135, was transferred to the RAF and used by 45 Group in Newfoundland from 1942. Does anybody know if it recieved an RAF serial at that point, or operated under the old VO registration?

Bill, I don't believe that it ever had an RAF identity.
The Gander ORB notes 17th December 1941; "The C.O. tested a Fox Moth this morning which is retained at this station on loan from the Newfoundland Government."
Whether it still wore the marks VO-ADE or the RCAF instructional airframe serial A135, I don't know, but nothing has come to light about an RAF serial.

Thanks Ian. I've found one source that quotes markings as VO-ADE/A135/VO-ADE, so I guess it went back to civil marks.

ORBs for Gander, including that for RAF Ferry Command, consistently refer to this a/c as VO-ADE. Thatís not to say it didnít receive an RAF serial, but Iíve never seen it referenced as anything but VO-ADE.
