    Default P/O J. Livingston RCAF

    Hi all,

On December 1, 1942, Pilot Officer J. Livingston (401 Squadron) was injured in the crash of Spitfire AB460. Since he must have recovered and was not KIA later, could anybod help me find this pilot's full name and service number?

    Thank you,

    Fox.

PS: I also have a Sergeant Pilot D.A. Wright (same unit) injured in the crash of Spitfire BS311 on September 26, 1942. Same details requested.

With regard to AB460; almost everywhere you look you will see that the crash location is given as 'Swanage Bank Hospital, Surrey'. As I could never trace it I sent for the form 1180 and deciphered the poor handwriting, the location is actually 'Sewage Tank, Netherne Hospital, Coulsdon, Surrey'. Poor chap if he was still in the aircraft!

    John Alexander LIVINGSTON (R93475 / J9459) (commissioned 19 December 1941).

The service number provided for Sgt. D.A. Wright (R 93345) must be incorrect - R93345 comes up belonging to Lorne Oliver ARMSTRONG.

    Thank you very much.

Very interesting information, for according to their service number, both Ince and Livingston graduated from No. 2 SFTS on December 19, 1941 (course 39).

Would it be possible to track their place of birth, or at least the city they live in when they enlisted?

Also, they might have made it accross the Atlantic with the same convoy -- any possibility to check it out?

Eventually, could anybody help with A.A. Ince full name?

    Regards,

    Fox.

    Sorry Fox I missed Ince.

Aleo/ Alec (Canadian Gazette is hard to read) Arthur Ince (R93143 / J9452) (commissioned 19 December 1941).

    Regards,
    Christian

P.S. Both Livingston and Ince were from Toronto, ON.

    Phill,
The first accident of LIVINGSTONE on 14-5-1942 was on serial P8169 (rather than P8619); typo ??
