What was the 'RAF Training Base' Leuchars, Fife equipped with around 1927?

    Hi Norman,

    Leuchars was a split personality.

It housed an Armament Practice Camp, hosting various units who rotated in and out on a 14 day basis bringing their own aircraft to gain experience in live firing.

It also hosted the Fleet Fighter units when not embarked on HM ships.

Finally it also contained three training flights A for Fighter Pilots, B for Spotter Pilots and C for reccon pilots.

    Regards
    Ross
