    Steve, Hi,
Yr man Enlisted as an RAFVR Pilot sometime after Jan 1937 (in the block 740000 to 759999). 759361 was the highest number issued. So he was somewhere towards the end of the time when RAFVR Pilots were being Enlisted. I don't know when this was. But I know a man who does. Young Officer Routledge (Sir!) will have the answer - if he's on the circuit!

No.87 Squadron (Spitfires with long-range fuel tanks) based at Foggia, Italy, first half of July 1944. Reference AIR27/713/13 at folio 42. Also gets a mention in Beau Gen, the newspaper of No.255 Squadron, who were doing Beaufighter night intruder work that mirrored 87's daytime activities.
