I can confirm that crew listing from Col Bruggy is correct. The mid-upper gunner ( A Vandahart RCAF) was left behind to allow extra fuel for an expected 12 hour flight!

The aircraft was shot down in flames over Debrecen in Hungary.

    Regards

Any other information regarding the exact place where the EW278 Liberator crashed?
