    Hello All,

Does anyone have any details on ATA pilot AGARONOFF (Spl?), A of 5 Ferry Pool. Serving with this unit in early 1945.

There is a 1954 arrival on plane as passenger of an alexander Agaronoff alias Alexander Stirling, no firther information really.

And in 1932 a man of that name, aged 19 arrived in London from Egypt, listed as a student, resident of Russia.

And possibly, in 1926, he arrives aged 11 1/2 with a brother from Calcutta, Bound for Denstone College, Staffs. Brother is Surgay and both have a middle name of Samsonisitch, brother is 15 years old. Both subjects of Russia but living in India.

There are a few hits for him in the London Gazette also.

1936 - Naturilisation: Agaronoff, Alexander Sansonevitch (known as Alexander Sterling); No Nationality; Estate Agent; 3, Priory Court,. Mazenod Avenue, West Hampstead, N.W.5. 20 November, 1936.

1939 bankruptcy finding for Alexander STERLING, formerly Alexander Agaronoff.

    And in 1958??
    RAFVR

    A. AGARONOFF (150856). 27th Oct. 1958.

    leading back to

The proper spelling is Sergey, and it is not middle name but paternal name, Samsonovich, which means his father was Samson.

I'm just transcribing what I find Franek, not correcting things.
In any case, the brother gets married and died with the name Serge, 1956, 1989 resp.

Lord STRATHCARRON is found in later LG issues with the number 150859

Sure, there might be errors from misreading, wrong ocr, etc. I just think that having a correct name would make further search easier, and those were easy mistakes to spot for one accustomed to the langauge. No pun intended.
