    Default Info On Peter Jackson 49 Sqn Kia 9/4/45 & Edward Bracken 57 Sqn Kia 30/7/43

    Can anyone help out there I am trying to locate any information on these two aircrew;

    Sgt. Peter Jackson of Cross Hills, Keighley,RAFVR 49 Sqn KIA 9 April 1945 and listed at Runnymede.
    Sgt Edward Bracken of Farnhill, Keighley A/G 57 Sqn KIA 30 July 1943. buried at Becklington War Cem. Germany.
    I would assume that they were both in Lancs as both sqadrons were equiped with type at the time.

    Dick,
    Many thanks for all that information, and posted so quickly. My reason for trying to find out is my mother, who was a WAAF, went to school with Bracken in Skipton and was interested to know what, when and where. Jackson was the son of one of my, now late, customers and lived in the semi opposite where I now live!
    Edward Bracken had a brother who also lost his life, KIA, again with Bomber Command, he was a WOP/AG, on the night of 22/23 Nov. 1943 in a 428 RCAF Sqn Halifax V from Middleton St George.
    Thanks again.

    I have just finished a write up on the Jacob crew-and Albert Ackland.(there is a crew photo as well as one of Albert)
    Matt Lacroix,the site owner has posted it under 428 Squadron Gallery.
    I am still looking into the rest of the crew for more photos and info

    Linda,

    If I can help in any way with the Bracken connection I would be glad to. I have a feeling I can get hold of what might be his nephew I feel sure I met him at a fishing club dinner!
    Perhaps he would have some more photographs and details.

    If you wish to email me I am on pawbaxterwood@tiscali.co.uk
