    Default Halifax Movement Card abbreviation?

    Hello everyone

I've just received a Form 78 Movement card for Halifax DT675 from the RAF Museum, and I'm having some problems deciphering one of the abbreviations, not helped by the 1940s handwriting!

Firstly, it was taken on charge by 408 Sqn on 7-12-42. Next it has 23-3-43: RIW (Repaired in Works) at Handley Page, presumably after the mauling it received over Cologne on February 26th. The next entry is 25-5-43, and what looks like 'AW/lm' but the 'lm' is a complete guess as it's written in an almost undecipherable squiggle. Would AW be Armstrong Whitworth?

Can anyone take an educated guess for the squiggle after AW/ ?

    Regards

    Simon

    Default A.M.Form 78

This may not be the answer but there is another abbreviation which is RAAA-Repaired and Awaiting Allocation from the RIW-Repaired in Works.Could you send me the 78 by e-mail to have a look at it.

    Default A.M.Form 78

Hi Simon-Looking at your A.M.Form 78-I think it is the following abbreviation, "AW/CN" which is awaiting collection.
