Default No.80 Sq ORB for 25.5.1942

Hi-Does anyone have the No.80 Squadron Operations Record Book as I am seeking a copy of the entry for 25.5.1942.
The entry I am seeking is for the loss of Hurricane BN377 in Libya,Pilot Officer Alexander Charles Comfort was never found.
    Thanks,Philip

I have had a quick look through the F541 for May 42 and BN377 first appears on 9 May when it was flown by Sgt Coste from LG101 to Gambut.
It was test flown by Sgt Comfort on the 10th.
There are several entries between the 15th and 23rd where an aircraft with the serial BE377 was use. AB serials does not list any such aircraft so this must be a typo in the ORB.
80 Squadron did lose 2 aircraft on the 23rd. These are listed as Sgt Scott in BE339 and Sgt Howard in BM974.
    Regards
    Andy

    Philip,
Was COMFORT on BN377 shot down near El Adem or on BE707 shot down by Bf 109s near Tmimi, both Libya ?
    Regards,
    Henk.

    Henk
The ORB has F/Sgt Comfort in BN413.
"Escort to 2 Tac/R machines..... When over Tmini F/S Comford who was acting as No. 2 to a Tac/R aircraft dived down to the drome and was not seen again..."
BE707 last apears in the ORB on 15 May. There is no indication that it was lost.

    Regards
    Andy

PS shocked by the news Henk, keep strong!

Hi Andy and Henk-Thanks again for the extra information with regard to the actual Hawker Hurricane that Comfort was flying on the 25.5.1942 when he went missing. The casualty card at the Air Historical Branch gives the Hurricane as BN377,clearly more typing errors!

    Thanks,Philip
