Default Details on 4 Whitley losses 7-8 Sept. 1941 Berlin raid/matchings to NF claims?

    Dear all,

I would like to have more details on the crash locations, cause of loss & time of loss of four Whitleys that failed to return from the 7-8 September 1941 Berlin raid. Hopefully, this will enable me to match a number of these losses to the following four night fighter claims for Whitleys destroyed:

    Lt. Rudolf Altendorf: 5 2./NJG3 Whitley N. Berlin 00.32
    Lt. Ludolf Schmitz: 2 3./NJG1 Whitley 500 m. W. Neuenkirchen, NE Grevenbroich 00.47
    Lt. Rudolf Altendorf: 6 2./NJG3 Whitley N. Berlin 01.00
Uffz. Wolfgang Brendel: 1 3./NJG3 Whitley Leissnitz 01.36

    Cheers, Theo

Apologies for failing to enter the basic details on the three (not four) Whitleys lost during the 7/8 September 1941 Berlin raid that I wanted to have more details about:

    -51 Squadron Whitley Z6744
    -58 Squadron Whitley Z6836
    -58 Squadron Whitley Z6947

(I do have the info on the crews from Chorley's 1941 volume)

Any info on crash places/time & cause of of loss welcome!

    Cheers, Theo
