On 27-8-1943 341 Squadron lost pilots Sqdn Ldr René Mouchotte and Sgt Pierre Magrot over NW France.
One of the Spitfires they flew was MH417 and I believe there was (or still is?) a discussion whether Mouchotte or Magrot was the pilot of this a/c.
Mouchotte evidently went down over sea (he washed ashore at Middelkerke, Belgium), while Magrot came down and is commemorated at Houdain, still some 80 kms from Calais.

Spitfire MH417 aside, what was the identity of the second Spitfire?
