    Default 25th & 26th November 1942 Hurricane Losses.

    Hello,

    HV580 of 43 Sqdn.

    26th Nov 1942

    Default

    Data from AB serial books

    25th Nov 1942

HL895 of 238 Sqdn. Missing as dated.
HL981 of 225 Sqdn crashed in forced landing nr Medjez el Bab
HV580 of 43 Sqdn crashed on landing, Souk el Arba

    26th Nov 1942

HL768 ? missing as dated, no unit recorded
HL954 ? lost as dated, no unit recorded
HL989 ? missing as dated, no unit recorded

Not much recorded for either date in “Fighters over the Desert”. 40 SAAF had Lt Freemantle shot down and belly landed on 26th after being attacked by 109s, so a possibility for one of these Hurricanes.

I can only add a little bit: HL989 was with 225 Squadron. It was flown the day before by F/Lt I.G. Stewart (according to his logbook). I don't have the ORB to check.
