    Default J J Allen, 55 Course 2 SFTS 1940/41

    Guys,

Appears this chap survived, he is not Australian, the two J J 's in CWGC being Australian.

His service numbers going to be around 61500-62000, i.e. similar to the others having passed out as an Air Cadet.

    Any ideas?

    Regards,

    Nick

Same as my Pemberton thread posting, you need to check the London Gazette for all the men in 55 Course, a large group of them should appear in the one commishioning group.

    912495 John Jacob ALLEN (61987).

Allen and Pemberton are in the same group on this issue of the LG

    Thanks again Dennis,

As l have not been researching too much for a while, l forgot about this and it was not letting me open up these documents. Now resolved. Not so easy with the Sergeants though.

Certainly served with 103 Squadron, where he received his DFC in 1942 and then Squ/L with 107 Squadron where he received a bar in 1945.

I will check out the Squadron ORB's and see what he got up to but any further help will be appreciated. It is always interesting to see what they did which enabled them to survive.

    Regards,

    Nick
