    Default 188611 F/Lt K A Harvey

    I am researching 188611 F/Lt K A Harvey, who bailed out of Vampire TG446 1 mile NE Peasdown St.John on 7th Jan 1952.

For some reason I'm having issues raising him on the London Gazette, does anyone have any details of the above pilot?

there are no search settings, just search in the exact phrase field for:

    K. A. Harvey

    and again for

    188611

Simples, nothing else needs to be clicked, set or turned on.

There is a Royal Aero Club license card for him on Ancestry.com with a photo, born 1923 in Manchester. Well i assuem its him, says RAF qualified on the card, dates from 1947.

The 1180 describes Harvey as a student pilot and his unit as 208 AFS. Apparently, he ran out of fuel whilst flying in heavy and turbulent cloud.

If he is the guy referred to above, he would have been 29 at that stage. This suggests that he might have been a re-entrant to the RAF or possibly in one or other categories of the reserves or auxiliaries and perhaps doing a jet refresher.

Hello: F/Lt Kenneth A. Harvey was my Dad. He began as a Pilot for the R.A.F. in WWII. Afterwards, he was 'loaned' to the R.C.A.F. (Regular Force) and, eventually transferred to the R.C.A.F. and sent for his family to come to Canada. It was here in Canada that he earned the Air Force Cross for Bravery. I have his personal file(s) regarding his military and civilian flying career. Thanks. - Lorna Harvey
