    Default F/O Bruce Thomas (42028) killed on May 18, 1941 12 FTS

F/O Bruce Thomas (42028) was killed on May 18, 1941 when his 12 FTS Battle was shot down by an intruder near Grantham.

As he was serving as an instructor at this training establishment it is likely his pupil was also lost in this incident but I have not found any positive note to confirm this.

From the CWGC records I have found the following LACs (pilot under training) were lost on the same day (actually night).

    William Ronald Glover (1187935)

    John Samuel Edgar Rawcliffe (964357)

Percy Gilbert Davies (1378633) – as buried at Hawarden I am tending to rule Davies out , as possibly connected with the training unit (s) in that area.

Can anyone assist here – possibly something already covered in Henks unaccounted airmen series ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ian

    Hi Ian

Sorry to be the beare of bad news but Glover was registered in Huntingdon North and Thomas in Grantham so not in the same area

I have Glover as a possibly for Oxford II, N6370 of No 14 SFTS, which crashed whilst landing at night at Sibson.

In fact A-B 'The Battle File' states that Thomas was the sole fatal casualty
