    Default Air Britain look-up - Albemarle K1554?

    Hi all

I wonder if anyone with the relevant A-B serials book could please tell me what it says for Albemarle K1554?

    Most grateful, many thanks

    Hi,

Can you check your source for the serial.

I think you mean P1554 of No.42 OTU

    Default Albemarle

    Hi Ross

It's quoted as K1554 in Geoffrey Williams' "Flying through Fire" about FIDO airfields in WWII, although I did wonder whether the 'K' was correct. The book says it was flying a cross country exercise from Ashbourne in Derbyshire which was indeed, I think, home of 42 OTU, so I suspect you're right and it was P1554.

Just wanted to check what units A-B referred to (- any others for P1554?). And if you've corrected the serial as well that's an extra bonus. Thank you.

Another result from 'RAF Commands' !

    : )
