    Default Amsr?

    The file I'm using to research the origins of Met Flights , includes enclosures from between 1923 and 1924. Unfortunately most of the addressees are simply referred to by acronyms; I'd appreciate help in deciphering this one:

    A.M.S.R - I think this must be Air Ministry ????? Research; and ideas on the 'S'

    Brian,
    Probably Air Member for Supply & Research in the early/mid 20's (AVM Salmond appears to have been the Boss Man). "Stuffy" Dowding did the job later. (Source Wiki)

    Thanks Peter, interestingly his response (passing the buck to DSR (?)) was penned by his Permanent Secretary, who I think was F W Newman (almost illegible).
