    Default 115 Squadron 13 August 1944

Has anyone any information about 153468 F/O Gerald Blandford of 115 Squadron who I believe was killed on 13th August 1944.
I have no idea the index of the aircraft but understand it was a Lancaster Mk I or III.
There is also conflicting information about 115 squadron being disbanded at Tofino, British Columbia in August 1944, with other information stating that the squadron became the nucleus of a new squadron..?
Can anyone shed any light on this please?

    It was a Lancaster III, PB127 KO-T.

115 Sqn RAF never went anywhere near BC, the disbandment may be referring to 115 Sqn RCAF

    Default Lancaster III, PB127 KO-T

    Thank you for that Malcolm.
Hopefully I can track down the circumstances of his death with the information.

    Hi Spitsortie
All I can add is that the Lancaster flew again (as my Grandad was killed in it on the 26th September 1944) so whatever happened to F/O Blandford (and I hope you know by now), it didn't affect the aircraft.
    Kind regards
    Deborah
