Default Halifax II bomb sight version?

    Hello everyone

I'm currently building Revell's new Halifax kit as an example from February 1943. The kit includes what looks like an American Norden bomb sight, but would this be correct for an early 1943 Halifax?

I've found references to Halifaxes using the British Mk. IX or Mk. XIV bomb sight, so which would be correct for a Halifax of this period?

    Regards

    Simon

If you put Halifax BII bombsight into Wikipedia I think you fill find what you need including photographs.
    Sounds like the Mk XIV.

    Thanks for the reply Peter.

I'd thought the Mk. XIV too, but I've also posted this over on the Key Publishing Forum. From what I've been told there it looks like 408 Sqn Halifaxes would have still been fitted with the Mk. IX sight at this stage, as the Mk. XIV was still in short supply, and deliveries were prioritised to other Squadrons.

    It's a bit of a shame as I've already scratch-built a Mk.XIV...!

    Regards

    Simon
