Hi Tony
All three were killed whilst flying in Liberator VIII, EW630 of No 232 Sqn, when a fire broke out in the nose compartment and spread before an emergency landing could be made.

This lady, recorded as stationed at 232 Squadron, died on 29th March 1946 and is buried in Delhi War Cemetery, India. Two other ladies who died on the same day are buried nearby; one a Wren Officer and the other a VAD Nurse. It is probably a sheer coincidence but the Wren officer is recorded as ‘killed’ which raises a question mark – is there a connection?
Grateful if any member has any information regarding the cause of death of Sergeant Eaton.

I am most grateful.

Forgive me I should have been a bit more inquisitive. What was the purpose of the flight? Would I be correct in assuming they were on their way home to UK, possibly demobiisation?

Hi Tony
I'm afraid it doesn't say

Thanks Malcolm
Nothing on Google either concerning a 232 Sqdn Liberator. I have an enquiry off to BRCS HQ regarding their VAD Nurse, might be lucky?
