    Default Castne - off-topic mystery

    Hi all,

I am trying for very long time to decode following record in a diary of 311 Sq member:

Chaps are going to Essen but not me. .... I have been in Castne and I have a great time.

I have read this row many times comparing with other records - in his handwriting it is really Castne.
But I was not able to find such a place anywhere on the internet or on the map - 311 Sq were based at the moment in East Wretham, Norfolk.

Originally I thought it was a place (small town or village) but now I think it might be also a local pub or hotel?

    Any ideas?

    TIA

    Hi chaps,

many thanks for your suggestions. Well it is clearly readable CASTNE, but it will be not the first time he spelled the name or place incorrectly.
So Caston looks like the right option.

PaulH - no Paul it is not an L.
